How do you keep yourself motivated to maintain a high level of fitness and exercise while preventing injury?

You can prevent injury by making sure that you start your exercise routine slowly and build up your endurance and fitness level over time. You should warm up prior to beginning exercise by stretching and getting limber. This will prevent pulled muscles. You should always cool down after an exercise session as this will help prevent stuffness and soreness the following day. You should pay attention to how you feel while you are exercising. Your body will tell you when you are pushing yourself to far.

You should wear comfortable clothing that allows you the ability to move around with ease. Your clothing should fit the type of climate you are exercising in. If it is cold, you should layer your clothing so you can remove layers as your body heats up. Drinking plenty of fluids during exercise will keep you hydrated and prevents you from overheating and cutting your workout short.
You should choose a variety of activities to keep from getting bored. Choose activities you really like and you will enjoy exercising. Try not to compete with others in the gym and just keep working to improve your fitness level.


Try creating a routine that makes your daily life more active. Park your car far away from the store's entrance in the parking lot to increase your activity. Taking the stairs down instead of using the elevator will also increase your fitness. Be sure to set time aside for exercise in your busy schedule. You should make sure you track your progress. Everyone loves to know they have improved. Set goals each week and strive to reach those goals. Last but not least - reward yourself when you achieve your goals!
